Acupuncture has since then come full circle and has grown roots in America as a very helpful way to stay healthy and pain free from injuries. It isn’t a cure all but in many cases people have found relief by using acupuncture. Some people who were told that back surgery was the only thing that would give relief have found that acupuncture works well enough that they don’t need to have the surgery.
As acupuncture has become more mainstream there are many people who want to learn how to do it. Acupuncture schools have popped up all over the country for those wanting to learn and help people. One thing that people don’t understand about acupuncture schools is that the course of study is long and filled with a mix of oriental medicine and western medicine.
For most students enrolled in an acupuncture school, their course of study will take them around three years. If the student is unaware of the effort to be put into a program, they run the risk of failing even before they know better. These schools study acupuncture history and philosophy and how it as evolved through the ages into its current form. Students also learn about herbal remedies and the way to use them.
Acupuncture Schools Internships
Acupuncture schools make students go through a very busy and tough internship to push the students into learning how to apply the knowledge that they have learned. As time passes, the students begin to get the bigger picture and they develop confidence to do what they learned.
Acupuncture schools are very effective in taking a person right out of society and with practice and lecture mold them into some of the best acupuncturists in the country. There are schools located in Canada and the US and in most states. A person can find a school in the area of which they live or they may choose to go to a school in a different environment to experience things out of ones element.

In my view lectures should be banned from all education. Except for education in how to make speeches.
Especially when it is a skill (like acupuncture) that is being learned.
There are far better ways to learn.
I hope one day acupuncture schools will get this message!
